Literature Text

The sleeping city of Camelot was illuminated by the glowing disk that hung high in the midnight sky – protecting the land from total darkness. However, there was a different kind of darkness around that the moon could not defend against. It roamed though the streets – diving underneath abandoned market stalls and hiding behind buildings when the patrol approached – heading towards the citadel.

Soon, the sneaky human form found its way into the well defended castle. They pulled a dark hood over their head and crept thought the shadowy corridors, unseen and unnoticed. Almost like a chameleon, the intruder managed to blend in with the walls and slip through the fortress.

Within several minutes, the mysterious figure had reached it's destination. It had absolutely no trouble navigating it's way through the tunnels and seemed to be quite familiar with the buildings layout. Either the silhouette had been there before, or it had a very good sense of direction.

The cloaked trespasser – for they obviously weren't a welcomed guest – gently pushed a large wooden door, which swung open to reveal a small living quarter that was just as dark as the rest of the castle.

A faint beam of moonlight shone through the only window in the chamber and lit up a large table covered in multiple vials, tubes and pots – all filled with different liquids that didn't look at all appetising.

The obscure shape didn't stop to admire the place further. It pushed forward and approached an oak door that sat at the other end of the room, leading to a slightly smaller chamber. Inside, a young man slept peacefully; clenching a large book and snoring lightly.

The cloaked human made it's way to the boys bedside and stared at his sleeping features, before reaching out and placing a hand on his forehead. Suddenly, their eyes flashed gold and momentarily lit up the gloomy room, as they muttered a few incoherent words in a language known to very few people.

The intruder watched the slumbering boy stir in his sleep, before disappearing into the night; leaving no trace of their presence in Camelot.

The sluggish man sat upright and rubbed his eyes, feeling like something inexplicable had happened while he slept.  For some strange reason, he felt like a completely different person and yet he didn't care. A large grin suddenly filled his face, as a devious plan began worming it's way into his brain. After literally a few seconds of deep contemplation, he eventually fell back to sleep....

Meanwhile, the unnamed figure that had previously been sneaking around Camelot, began mounting a beautiful white horse and galloped off into the forests.
This was, originally the prologue to a short fan fiction with only a few chapters. However, after episode six of series four, I abandoned writing it for obvious reasons.

Still, I thought I'd share this with you. :meow:
